Adventist Medical Center recently opened its new Emergency department lobby. Nearly 100 employees, physicians and community leaders gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the 2,500 square-foot waiting room. It resembles a calm and serene hotel lobby, features an oversized fireplace, plasma televisions, a family-oriented seating area, comfortable furniture and soothing colors. In addition, patients and family members can access free wireless Internet while they are waiting. The lobby was carefully designed to help patients relax and start to relieve anxiety while they wait.
